500 ha of new forests by 2030
Fueling Green Recovery in Armenia
We are pleased to announce that we have signed a five-year operational partnership with the Environmental Project Implementation Unit (EPIU) of the Ministry of Environment of Armenia.

This project: “Fueling Green Recovery in Armenia – advancing forest infrastructure and creating sustainable jobs for rural communities” is financed by the Green Climate Fund (GCF). Within this framework, we will work in the Shirak region on both reforestation and agroforestry activities.

Over the next four years, we will establish 500 hectares of forest on community lands, with planting followed by a full year of maintenance and replanting. As always, this is a critical part of our work to ensure high survival rates and long-term results. Planting is scheduled to begin in the fall of 2026.

The project also includes an agroforestry component. We will implement pilot projects in selected communities, introducing systems such as windbreaks, intercropping, and silvopastoral practices. These are practical solutions that can improve crop fields, pasture lands, and grazing methods, while increasing the overall productivity of the land.

This is particularly relevant in areas where pasture lands are overused and livestock often move into forested areas. With better grazing management and adapted systems, it is possible to improve pasture quality and reduce pressure on nearby forests.
We are particularly happy to participate in this important project as this confirms our role as a major reforestation operator on the ground, working now with public institutions, to increase forest cover.
