On November 18 at 19:30, the renowned pianist Hayk Melikyan will give an exceptional piano concert in the Aram Khachaturian Concert Hall dedicated to the creation of a 100 ha forest of 300,000 trees in Armenia honouring the legendary Charles Aznavour.

All ticket sales will directly contribute to planting the forest, which will be a lasting tribute to honour his legacy on the occasion of his 100th anniversary, celebrated this year. This concert marks the start of a series of fundraising events to create the Charles Aznavour Forest. We are honoured that the Aznavour Foundation has become the first enthusiastic supporter of this idea, by donating 14,000 trees covering around 5 ha. 

The concert program includes pieces by Georgi Gurdjieff and Leos Janacek, both synonyms of introspective and inspirational music. The concert will feature a new piece, specially created for the occasion by a young composer, Elen Yolchyan, titled “Mysteries of Forest” as well as an original piece composed by Hayk Melikyan himself. Hayk Melikyan will also perform a few improvisations on Aznavour’s music. 

Charles Aznavour is in the hearts of millions of people in France, Armenia and all over the world, and we want to give the opportunity to everyone to participate in the creation of a forest bearing his name. It will become a symbol of the eternity of his name, of his legendary songs, and at the same time will help the environment.
