My Forest Armenia and Koghb Foundation Team up to Restore 77 Ha of Forest
On September 20, 2024, the Koghb Foundation and My Forest Armenia held a joint press conference at the Holiday Inn Hotel. We signed a memorandum of cooperation to maximize our reforestation efforts. We are delighted to announce the establishment of this long-term cooperation.
This year, the reforestation area, located in Ijevan, Tavush region, will be divided into three sections, which will be named after three prominent Armenians in three different art forms: for music Komitas, for literature Kostan Zaryan, and for painting Martiros Saryan.
Our founder Andre Gumuchdjian stressed the importance of reforestation of forests that have been significantly degraded by human activities, to strengthen their resilience in the face of growing climate change threats.
Arman Barseghyan, chairman of the board of the Koghb Foundation, mentioned his wish to celebrate the prominent figures representing Armenian culture in this special way - by dedicating them new forests - and expressed the wish that caring for the environment becomes a cultural trait in Armenia.
Maestro Tigran Mansuryan, a strong supporter of this initiative, was also present at the event and congratulated everyone - “Just like the three artists are the sons of Armenia and represent its soul, the trees will be the sons of mother nature and rise to the sky” - he said.
Martiros Saryan's granddaughter Sofia Saryan was also present and expressed her gratitude for this initiative.
The project involves planting a total of 30,000 trees. To support the ArtForest Project, you can plant trees by visiting Koghb Foundation's website. You can choose the zone of your favorite artist, as well as the number and species of trees.
