FIRST TWO METER HIGH TREES!
FIRST TWO METER HIGH TREES!
It is with great satisfaction that we can announce that our first planted trees have reached two meters high!
“During a routine monitoring visit to our Shirakamut reforestation area in early June, I was surprised to discover a plot of about 5 hectares where the trees planted in the spring of 2021 had already reached two meters. The species in question is the wild pear. It is important to remember that we do not water the trees in the mountains, which makes this result truly exceptional,” notes Andre Gumuchdjian, founder of My Forest Armenia.

Actually, we can even say it is magical. It is important to remember the incredible length of time needed for forests to develop, which we humans have difficulty comprehending. In general, trees reach a height of two meters after 6 to 8 years, for oaks it is about 10 to 15 years.

In general, let’s be well aware that forest creation is a very slow process. We should consider that a forest begins to be visible from a distance after 10 and 20 years and a fully functioning young forest can not be expected to be called that before 30 years, in most cases it will be 50 years or more. However a healthy forest will last hundreds of thousands of years!
