This summer, we carried out an important maintenance operation that often goes unnoticed but is vital for the survival and growth of our young forests: weeding. In total, we cared for 312,845 trees, a significant effort that deserves recognition.
The operation took place in Lernajour 1 & 2 (planted in fall 2023) and Lernajour 5 (planted in fall 2024). In both areas, grasses and weeds had grown thick and tall, on average 80 cm high, and in some spots reaching 1.5 meters.
Weeding is far more than just clearing space. It gives young trees access to more sunlight and room to grow, while the tilling of soil allows more oxygen to reach the roots, strengthening them for the future. This essential maintenance ensures that our trees can thrive and develop into strong, resilient forests.
