A week-long adventure combining cycling, culture, and reforestation, where every participant contributes directly to planting new forests.

Starting May 2026, My Forest Armenia is launching a new series of charity bike tours designed for travelers who want more than just a holiday.

Participants cover the cost of the tour and, in addition, make a donation to My Forest Armenia, directly supporting our reforestation work across the country. The tour is organized in partnership with a local professional bike operator, ensuring safety, comfort, and high-quality logistics throughout the journey.

A Cycling Experience Rooted in Nature and Impact

Armenia offers some of the most rewarding and undiscovered cycling terrain in the world. From high-altitude passes and rolling green plateaus to quiet country roads and dramatic canyon landscapes, each day reveals a new side of the country.

My Forest Armenia charity bike tours are carefully curated to balance cycling, cultural immersion, comfort, and environmental impact. Along the way, travelers visit some of our reforestation sites, our nursery, but also ancient monasteries in stunning sites, meet local communities, make and bake yourself traditional lavash bread and gain a deeper understanding of Armenia’s landscapes and biodiversity.

Whether you are an experienced cyclist or an enthusiastic rider looking for a meaningful adventure, our tours provide a rare opportunity to explore Armenia beyond the typical tourist route.

Armenian Highland

Ride across Armenia’s dramatic highlands where ancient monasteries rise above deep canyons and remote mountain roads wind through untouched landscapes. This route showcases the country’s raw beauty, rich history, and extraordinary hospitality.

The Tour

Your Armenia journey begins with an overnight stay in its lively capital, Yerevan. After a full day visit, the bike tour proper begins the next day, we will take you by bus to Tsaghkunk, a village near lake Sevan. From there you will travel eastwards and over the next few days you will discover this ancient region by electric bike, exploring a rich array of landscapes, from grasslands to lush forests and enchanting valleys, rushing rivers to deep canyons. Pedalling along old roads and trails, you will discover the many new forests that My Forest Armenia has planted. By being an active part of this effort, you will discover this traditional culture through the many people we meet along the way.

Who can participate?

This journey is built around a desire to be an engaged actor, while at the same time discovering an exceptional country, not as a tourist but as a concerned traveler who wants to experience the great outdoors, discover its people and the culture, but also want to help nature. We provide e-bikes and although the Armenian highland can be hilly, the itinerary is carefully designed to make it an enjoyable experience. At one or two spots, we will leave the bikes near the river and make an easy hike up the hills to admire the breathtaking views and the growth of the young saplings. If this corresponds to your vision of traveling, you'll love your time exploring Armenia with us.

What will I see?

The best time to visit Armenia is between May and October. June sees an abundance of wildflowers and emerald grasses, while the end of summer gives way to amber grasslands and reds, oranges and yellows in the lush forests, as well as delicious autumn fruits. The tour is balanced between sightseeing and actual reforestation sites. You will make and bake lavash, visit Sevan lake, two ancient monasteries, the Trchkan waterfalls, the cities of Yerevan and Gyumri, the Alluria winery and of course our flagship nursery near Vanadzor. We strongly recommend to extend your stay a few days or even a full week, there is so much to see in Armenia. Most notably, Khor Virap, Noravank monastery, Areni caves, Tatev monastery, etc.

My Forest Armenia

My Forest Armenia was created in 2019 to help improve the environment and mitigate climate change by engaging in large-scale reforestation. To date My Forest Armenia has planted more than 3 million trees covering 960 ha in 11 different sites. Engaging in reforestation is not only about the environment, it has an important social aspect. By hiring villagers from remote mountain villages, they gain access to meaningful jobs, thereby improving significantly the socio-economic situation of the villages. Moreover, creating forests is about improving quality of life. When the forests will mature 50 years from now they will provide many opportunities for sustainable economic development.

The Concept

With these bike tours, the point is to raise money for planting trees while discovering the various steps of the process but also to discover a new country in a fun way in close contact with its people and its culture. Each participant is contributing to the project by making a set donation. However, we encourage to fundraise the money rather than paying from your own pockets. It gives an opportunity for others to participate as well. In the price of the package, each participant contributes 1000 trees (€2000) in addition to the costs of the bikes and the accommodations. At the end of the tour, you will receive a certificate for having planted 1000 trees.

Your support

The My Forest Armenia charity bike tour is a holistic experience, that combines tourism, sports, culture, cuisine, people and action in favour of nature. Approximately one third of the tour price covers the cost of the tour (rental of bikes, hotels, meals, etc.). The balance will be used to grow and plant trees. Depending on where your country of residence, you may pay the balance of your tour on one of our tax-deductible account. We encourage you to organise fundraising events to share the collection effort with friends or family. There are many ways of doing this. You will find some ideas and suggestions on this website.

How to Fundraise

Participants are encouraged to fundraise their donation to My Forest Armenia rather than contribute personally. This can be done by organizing creative initiatives such as walking dinners, sit-down dinners, conferences, theatre performances, concerts, or other community events. To support your efforts, we provide resources to help you plan and promote your activity. You can download a guide with fundraising ideas as well as materials about My Forest Armenia, including flyers, posters, roll-up banners, videos, and PowerPoint presentations to help present the project.
