Our first greenhouse. Thanks to Dr. Gary and Linda Assarians for funding

Thanks to the financial support of Gary and Linda Assarians we were able to build our first greenhouse: a significant milestone in our history.

The idea of building a greenhouse is the result of discussions with the National Agrarian University of Armenia.

“This cooperation with the Agrarian University is very important for us, as this will allow us to make our contribution to the students’ educational process. Students interested in the field can be involved not only in greenhouse works, but also in the operation of nurseries and other activities of My Forest Armenia in general, thus having practice in parallel with theory”, says Andre Gumuchdjian, Founder and Director of My Forest Armenia.

The main purpose of the greenhouse is to ensure the intensive growth of seedlings with a closed root system. In seven or eight months, seedlings will grow here ready to live independently in the forest, including species that are quite difficult to grow in open ground.

Currently we are preparing the soil mixture and filling the containers with it. At the beginning of March another important time will come: we will sow the first seeds of birch, linden, beech, and pine.
