1.200.000 Trees with One Tree Planted

We are thrilled to announce that we have started a new partnership. One Tree Planted, a US-based organization, is partnering with us to plant 1.200.000 trees over three years in Armenia.

Entering a new phase

With this project, we are happy to significantly increase our reforestation efforts to mitigate climate change. The number of trees that will be planted is as follows: 200․000 in 2022, 400․000 in 2023, and 600․000 in 2024. In three years, we will cover a total area of over 400 ha in Lori Province, Armenia.

One Tree Planted Regional Director Karl McGrory commented, “One Tree Planted is delighted to be working to restore the Armenian landscape, planting trees and supporting the local community with our partner My Forest Armenia. We are excited to see this project develop and to deliver landscape scale restoration in the coming years”.

What are we going to achieve together?

Together we will take a big step towards protecting wildlife and creating a habitat for biodiversity in the location. At the same time, this cooperation will have an important social and economic impact. Work is scarce in the rural areas of Armenia, and Lori is not an exception. We will hire up to 300 men and women to make this project happen. As a result, a large number of families will have lasting financial stability, besides the environmental benefits.

Who is One Tree Planted?

One Tree Planted is a nonprofit organization focused on global reforestation. Before even reaching a decade of planting, One Tree Planted has gotten more than 40 million trees in the ground! Since 2014, the organisation has more than doubled the number of trees planted each year and is working with partners across 47+ countries in North America, Latin America, Africa, Asia, Europe, and the Pacific. Last year alone, 23,588,232 trees were planted through 166 projects in 42 countries worldwide.

These numbers are beyond impressive, and we are proud to be part of this global effort and the trust One Tree Planted has in My Forest Armenia.
